This paper offers a method on how to handle with vibration signal to identify and control the slag in continuous casting according to the differences of traits in casting process, which has been proved to be effective in experiments. It made an introduction on the basic theory and the algorithm of HMM and the application of vector quantification. It also presents how to select the initialization model and training data. At last, it analyses the experimental findings.
