As part of the work experimental research and numerical calculations were carried out. In order to prepare the work, it was necessary to use a laboratory test rig with a rotor working on hydrodynamic bearings and extensive measuring equipment was also used. This instrumentation is available at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdansk. The measurements were carried out in accordance with relevant standards (Kosmol 2010). The vibrations of non-rotating parts were measured in accordance with ISO 10816-1:1995 (1995).
