Abstract

For a thick two-dimensional corner composed of two different materials of unequal thickness, with fluid-boundary conductance on each side, and with a temperature difference established between the two boundary fluids, the isotherms throughout the solid corner are distorted in irregular fashion. Accordingly, calculation is difficult. This problem has been studied by various methods and comparative results have been obtained for the internal temperature distribution. The methods include the experimental “geometrical” and the network electrical analogies, as well as the solution of the equivalent electrical network by the process of arithmetical iteration.
