The NEMO (Naval Experimental Manned Observatory) is the first transparent-hull submersible capable of operation to depths as great as 600 ft. Subsystems such as pressure hull, life support, power, hydraulic, and communications are described in this paper. The NEMO brings new and unique capabilities to the current family of undersea submersibles.
