When heavy equipment is moved by cranes or derricks the rigging used must be stable. Based on the results in Part I, various sufficient stability criteria are derived which can be used to make rapid determinations of stability. A set of guidelines are developed as an aid in the loading or designing of a lifting rig in order to avoid unstable configurations, and stability boundary plots are presented which express the necessary and sufficient stability criterion in a readily usable chart form.
