Low-order nonlinear models for proportional two-way and simple three-way flow control valves are developed and subjected to experimental verification. The models are postulated in the semi-empirical manner, trying to overcome the most typical problems in modelling fluid power valves, e.g., the influence of constructional differences and the difficulty of identifying the parameter values.
